Luis Caceres
Luis “El Suave” Cáceres
has spent his entire life immersed in tango Argentino. His smooth, authentic dance style is a reflection of the expressive,
passionate nature of this genre. He comprehends tango and its language (Lunfardo) from an enviable, intimate perspective.
He added dancing to his tango-related repertoire
in 1999 and has been privileged to take from some of the best teachers in the world. Local teachers Debbie Goodwin, Ed Loomis,
Rebeca Basave, and Miguel Talante have, in addition to being excellent teachers, inspired him to persevere and never give
up his quest. Argentine teachers Hugo “El Gato” Valdez and Andrea Monti, Marcelo Solís and Romina, Nito
and Elba García, El Maestro Orlando Paiva Senior, Orlando Paiva Junior and Mariana Melling, El Indio, Pampa Cortés,
los Dinzel, the Rivarolas, Sebastian Arce, Oscar Mondagarán, Roberto Riobo, Chicho Frumboli, Juan Carlos Copes, the
Mora Godoy School of Dance, and many others have helped him expand, cultivate, and refine his personal style.
Luis dances everywhere he goes. He plans his vacations around
tango and has danced at memorable milongas and prácticas in the U.S.; Buenos Aires; Lima; Valparaíso; several
cities in México; Madrid, Málaga, Sevilla, Granada, and Sitges, Spain; Lyon, Marseilles, Saint Emillion, Paris,
France, and other places with thriving tango communities.
This is Luis’s first
year of teaching beginning tango Argentino. His goal is for each of his students to experience personally the beauty and grace
of tango Argentino.
